The food is great. The turkey dinner is one you may not be
able to finish. Usually heaped with loads of juicy white
meat. The mashed potatoes are always buttery and creamy.
There is an occasional lump that just to remind you they
are real and not instant. You have to try the heeping plate
of fried clams. They are cooked to perfection. I especially
love the fish and chips. But when the meal is done you must
wander over to the 6 foot pastry case and pick out one of
the homemade desserts. There are numerous fruit squares.
Egg clairs, jumbo cookies, unbelievably moist triple
chocolate layer cake, and you will never have apple struedel
like theirs. Of course the usiual pies are available. When
I say mile high lemon mirangue (spelling)I mean it,
apple, cherry, blueberry, chocolate cream, boston cream,
banana cream, and of course apple. They also have a great
bread pudding as well as grapenut pudding. It is worth the
trip to the cape for this gem. There is usually a line on
Sundays during breakfast time as well as lunchtime in the
summer. Oh yes, if you are fortunate to get the head
waitress pat to be your server you are in for a real treat.
During these days where everything is changing its nice to
take a step back in time and enjoy our Diners.
